Commander W. Codrington FORSYTH. R.N, arrived with despatches from the Pacific Squadron and at once passed on to the London express train. This gallant officer was on the VIRAGO, which bore such a conspicuous a part in the bombardment of Petropaulowski. He also headed the expedition to rescue the American officers surveying the Isthmus of Darien, for this the American Government awarded him a gold medal.
