Victoria Anne GIBBS
The little daughter of Captain and Mrs Antony GIBBS was christened Victoria Anne by Rev C. B. ARMSTRONG, Rector of Clyst St George, on Wednesday March 14th. The baby wore the lovely old robe previously worn by her grandfather Major A. H. GIBBS of Pytte.
The godparents were Captain C. d ANYERS WILLIS, Coldstream Guards, Capt Peter CHANCE, Coldstream Guards, [for both whom Mr Sebastian SNOW stood proxy], Miss Elizabeth GIBBS, Mrs Charles MILLS and Mrs T. C. DUNDAS. Among the large congregation were the grandparents Major and Mrs A. H. GIBBS, Mrs Evan GIBBS, who was accompanied by her daughter Evadne and her son Peter [now in a wheel chair recovering from his accident during the fire at Shobrroke Park]. Mrs EDGEDALE, Mrs Charles LIDDELL and the brother of the baby Julian GIBBS. Capt Anthony GIBBS, Coldstream Guards arrived on leave just in time for the ceremony which was followed by a reception and tea at Pytte, Clyst St George.
