CLEMENT CREW IN FOUR LIFEBOATS
SURVIVORS AT MACEIO
The crew of the Liverpool steamer CLEMENT sunk in the south Atlantic by an armed raider have landed at Brazil with the exception of the Captain and the chief engineer who have been taken prisoner, the crew numbered 50 mostly belong to Merseyside.

Crew exhausted
Maceio Brazil, Tuesday, three lifeboats containing the crew of the CLEMENTS have arrived here men in an exhausted condition.
16 survivors picked up by the Brazilian steamer ITATINGA were taken to Waceio and have now reached Bahia, 16 men in good condition, survivors state that the raider allowed the crew to abandon ship in four lifeboats
