WALLASEY RECLUSE

A quiet funeral at Anfield Cemetery

The remains of Mr Isaac MORRIS a property owner in Wallasey and a retired provision merchant, who died on Wednesday in his 76th year, after being removed from his residence Shropshire House, Seabank Rd, Liscard was interred at Anfield Cemetery this afternoon.

It will be remembered that Mr. Morris was found in dying condition his house, at tended only by his aged wife. Everything pointed to the couple being poverty-stricken, but subsequent inspection of the premises showed that they were in possession of about two thousand pounds in cash.

A small company of friends attended the funeral which took place in the nonconformist section of the cemetery the Rev F. Nicholson officiating. The mourners were, John NIXON and F. J. HYDE [executors] R. Bristow Hughes, a. b. Cox, N. Adams, H. J. Davies, J. H. Mansell, W. Ellis Jones, J. Powell, W. H. Greenham, Joseph Utchison, John Patterson, W. Pritchard, J. Rowlands, G. F. MR. PETER THOMPSON

Death of a Liverpool Official

Many friends will learn with regret the death of Mr Peter Thompson, who had been connected with the Liverpool High Baliffs office for 41 years, joining the service in 1873 and had charge of the summons department, which brought him into contact with all sorts and conditions of people.

He was well known at the County Court buildings in Victoria St, enjoying the esteem of his colleagues and all who had to do business with the office.

Mr Thompson who was 69, lost his wife two years ago and her death affected him very much, from that time his health began to fail, and for the last three months had been practically confined to his residence 27 Rawlins St, Fairfield, where he died yesterday afternoon .

He took a great interest in the Sunday services at Sun Hall, Kensington of which he was a prominent supporter until his health broke down. He leaves al takes place on Monday at Anfield Cemetery.

FORMER LIVERPOOL MERCHANT'S DEATH

The death took place at the house of his daughter, Cae Cristo, Carnarvon of Mr Griffith JONES, for many years partner in the firm of Messers Richard Williams and Sons, coal merchants, Liverpool, Mr Jones who was 70, had since his retirement lived alternatively with his son Richard William Jones of Blundellsands or with his daughter Mrs W. Lloyd Griffith at Carnarvon. He was widely known amongst the Welsh people of Liverpool and over North Wales and his companionable nature earned for him a host of friends. The funeral will be a private one Anfield Cemetery this afternoon
