James Louis DINGWALL, died July 22nd 1897, aged 32, master mariner, native of Cork, at the Southern Hospital from Pneumonia after being capsized in a small dinghy and taken out with the flood tide and taken on board a schooner at anchor on the 5th inst, showed no ill effects, but some days afterwards was laid up with a cold, the symptoms became more serious. William TOMKINSON, died Aug 14th 1897, Silvberdale, Victoria Park, Wavertree, aged 62, building contractor, 2nd son of the late William Tomkinson, became senior in his father's firm of Tomkinson and Co, 22 Roscommon St, the firm was entrusted the work of erecting, the Greek Church, Neston Church, St Saviours Church, Everton, Cope's Tobacco Works, the Southern Hospital, Lewis's Ranelagh St, the Mortuary Collingwood St and many other public buildings. Mr Tomkinson was president in the year 1877, of the Liverpool Master Builder's Association. He was a keen photographer and was president of the Liverpool Amateur Photographer Association in 1892, he married the daughter of the late James Molloy, a Liverpool paper merchant but was widowed in 1881, interred Anfield cemetery, August 17, 1897
